Vision Statement and Values

Cumberworth CE First School is located is a small village in Huddersfield and we welcome children from Reception to Year 5. We pride ourselves on putting the child and family at the heart of everything we do.

Our Vision

At Cumberworth CE First School, our vision is for all children to reach their full potential in their lives beyond our school, feeling excited to learn and be lifelong learners, and be inspired to make the most of their unique talents and gifts.

‘We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. … If it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12:6a, 8’

To achieve this vision, we are guided by the following core values:

  • Enjoy: We believe in fostering a love of learning, where children are engaged, motivated, and find joy in their own educational journey.
  • Enrich: We enrich the lives of our children through a wealth of shared experiences that nurture their individual qualities and excite them about the world we live in.
  • Excel: We set high expectations for our children to fulfil their own potential and empower them to make meaningful contributions and excel in their own unique ways.

Underpinning these values are the Christian values of kindness, love, respect, forgiveness, self-control, and friendship. These values are woven throughout the curriculum and daily life of the school, helping our children develop into well-rounded individuals who are prepared to make a positive impact on the world.
